Light. Images. Light/images. Moving lights. Moving images. Moving/light/images. Framed and free flowing light waves, sculptural light objects.
The ON sight specific group exhibition presents works by artists of Lighthouse light art society at an unusual location by utilizing the special atmosphere of Csokonai Theatre in Debrecen and turning it into an impromptu art gallery.

Two shapes? [2020]
If we take a look at the geometric shapes found in the cosmos, we find plenty of similarities. The branches of trees, for example, grow according to the same fractal pattern as the human vasculature system, as well as the vortex of the stars in the milky way system is eerily similar to the spiral structure of a snail’s shell. Everywhere we look, we find that nature replicates itself regardless of space and size.
However, what we see – as visual information – is merely light reflected from objects into our eyes. A three-dimensional image that the human mind is able to interpret within its own framework, but this image does not always match the rules of mathematics and physics: for example, how could we interpret a four-dimensional cube without mathematical calculations, if we do not have the appropriate sensory system to perceive it?
The installation shows two geometrical shapes (a cube and an octahedron) that appear to be different, yet they are able to replicate each other, almost as if one shape was the mirror image of the other. The only question is, is what we see really what it seems?
